I also want to send a "BIG THANKS" to a couple of special people who have given me some very cool vintage books on birding.
This book was given to me quite some time ago. A nice little Field Guide putout by the Golden Press in 1964. It has a lot of cool color pictures of all the birds in North America.
This book I got last year. A great publication of Audubon's Birds of America. Complete with large color prints of all his drawings. Published in 1950 with very low mileage on it!
I got this book for my Birthday this year. Really cool, this one is more of a science book on birds. Written in 1962, it has a plethora of information and drawings on all birds. The previous owner even made some notes and highlighted several passages. It's always cool to get a piece of someone else's past and see what they were thinking or doing.
The latest book was passed along to me from an admirer through my wife Erika of The Tattered House. This one is a vintage field guide from 1962. It has color and black and white photos, and like my own personal field guide, has notes of when and where sightings took place written in the margins by the previous owner.

Next time you come to my house ask to see my vintage bird book collection. I also collect old bird prints, nest and binoculars. I have a room I call my bird room, the funny part is it is the room where my two cats spend most of their time! Next Garden Gathering is April 22nd, hope you all can attend.~Jacque
I grew up with the Golden Press book! Still have it next to my binoculars by the window. It's a good one, huh? Great collection! ~Mindy
My mom has that same Golden press book - I borrow it from her from time to time when I see an unknown at the feeder!! You have a nice vintage collection!!
Great books!! We just added 10 Peking ducklings to our little familia.
